Ricky misses the mark
But I got to take the young brother to task for a misstep he made a few days ago. Championing Mindgreak and the rest of their brands for not labeling the scenes he is in a Interracial. Thanking them for considering them as regular boy girl and nothing more.
While I understand his sentiment to want to move past labels and step into a more "post-racial" circumstance not only in the adult industry but society at large. There is a huge part of the equation that Ricky is missing.
The fact of the matter is we DO NOT live in a "post-racial" society. and the more people try to champion that type of ideal the more they have an opportunity to ignore problems that by in large only effect people of color. Not only in the adult industry but society as a whole. The whole, don't look at me as a black person look at me as a person sentiment. Allows people to turn a blind eye to so many issues. Like pay inequality, disparities in the criminal justice system, the attack on voting rights and a whole host of other problems.
What people ask for is equality. What they really need is equity. There is a Huge difference. Equality makes the incorrect inference that people who start with uneven circumstances should have equal results. Equity in contrast correctly states that. In order for all of us to have equal results the playing fields and starting positions must first be leveled.
So while Ricky's heart is in the right place. He and others must realize. That it is our differences that make our society great. And those differences should be celebrated not minimized. Why is a latin woman beautiful? why is a white woman beautiful? why is a black woman beautiful? Why is a Asian woman beautiful, if you ask 50 different people you might get 50 different answers. And there is nothing wrong with that. As a Black man I want to stick my BBC in all of them and enjoy each of their distinct qualities as I bust my nut lol.
So Ricky in closing I love you man. But consider the fact that your position at Brazzers inspires younger brothers behind you coming into the adult industry. Also consider the importance of your accomplishments and what they represent to whom you inspire. The common thread that you share with them is your ethnic background. when you make statements about wanting to downplay your identity that representation and commonality that you signify to them partially gets lost.
I agree with Ricky is missing the fact girls are gonna find a way to dodge black men and charge more remember their first excuse was black guys were too big. They can just go back to use that. At the end of the day their is no excuse why you can't work with a person of color but they will continue to do so. Ricky is being used I believe to get rid IR which wont solve anything. If the industry was really about change they would get rid of companies and agencies issue a policy saying you can't dodge a person because the color of their skin and get rid of the Dodgers
