The bias on social media in the Adult industry.

15 years ago before twitter before snapchat before Instagram. The amount of avenues fans had to interact with their favorite adult performers was slim to nil. As it was since the 90s the Adult industry has always been on the cutting edge of internet innovation. This great relationship with internet technologies was a double edged sword. It allowed far more outreach for porn producers and talent to promote and sell their products but it also opened up huge wind falls in piracy and other concerns.
Unfortunately as with any type of technology. Its implementation and the ethics of their of are a mirror of our own human short comings and imperfections.

This leads me to the motivation of this post. Now that Piracy is so rampant in the adult industry. It is becoming critical for Adult talent to use every platform they have on social media to self promote. To ignore your fans on social media is to spell sure doom for any talent who wants to maintain any type of longevity in the skin biz. If you are lucky enough to join the adult industry and have any type of staying power building relationships with your colleagues is almost as important. Because the sharing of content and the cross promotion that adult talent can do for one another is a fundamental aspect of talent continuing to get work.

Nat Turnher went on a rant on Twitter  about a day go and He pointed out a huge bias that happens in the adult industry. A lot of White female porn stars who shoot IR content do not cross promote the black male talent they shoot with. They almost never have Black male talent in posts that they generate. They might RE-Post something that the black male talent they just worked with shares with his followers but they never Start a post them selves.


At the same time that same starlet might have a million pictures and posts of white male talent that she works with. Maybe they are doing this unconsciously but that bias is there.  And it comes from some of the most so called IR friendly starlets in the business. There are some names I could drop on here but I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I will give you a hint on one girl I am talking about, she has a really great ass shoots IR ALL the time but it took me having to go back a full year in her twitter posts to find a photo of her with Black male talent. Even when she posted promo photos of scenes that she actually shot with Black men. She never posted the promo photos with the black men actually in them.

After Nat's Rant on Twitter. A lot of black male talent expressed positions of solidarity sadly there was only one white female porn star who even acknowledged that this was a potential problem. Just goes to show that people don't like to be called out on their bull shit.
