Donovan Mitchell. Mister unstoppable.
Ben Simmons may win Rookie of the Year. But I think What Mitchell is doing in a tougher Western conference speaks to this young man's potential and the outlook should look scary for his opponents. I don't think any one thought this young man would be as good as he is. He is Easily the most polished offensive rookie to come out of college in the last 5 years.
His body control, his footwork, his ball handling, his quickness are things that are far more developed than some one his age should possess at this stage of their career. He simply looks unstoppable at times. The only thing I really think that stops him from scoring at will is his willingness to keep his teammates involved. But I honestly think he could go get 50 a night if he wanted to.
Me being a Lakers fan I am green with envy. He would look so beautiful in a Lakers jersey lol. He just has all the qualities you want in a player. He is a leader. He has his teammates backs he is coachable and he has a killer instinct. I mean there are just not enough words I can use to describe his attributes. He just seems to do everything right.
When Hayward left the Jazz to go to the Boston Celtics a lot of people wrote them off for dead. My self included. But the Jazz and Dennis Lindsey did a great job at scouting this young man from Louisville. He first started to make people take notice by winning the dunk contest. So we where aware of his elite athleticism but who knew he would have so many other facets to his game.
What he did tonight by eliminating Russell Westbrook, the reigning MVP, one of the best players in the world and his OKC thunder is something that Will stay with me for a long time. He was magnificent tonight scoring 20 points in the 3rd quarter a lone. It was truly a gritty performance.
I have been memorized with his play so far in the playoffs lets see how far his talent can take this Jazz team. They should give Houston everything that they can handle.
